For a smaller number of businesses — usually ones with a highly specific operational model, like a niche manufacturing process or a regulatory reporting requirement no mainstream platform handles well — configuring an off-the-shelf ERP means fighting the platform more than it helps. In those cases, we build a custom ERP core: typically a Node.js, .NET, or Java backend with a React or Angular front end, covering the specific finance, inventory, and operations modules the business actually needs.
We only recommend this path after a fit-gap analysis shows that standard platforms genuinely can't cover the core process economically — it's a bigger, longer-term investment than configuring SAP, NetSuite, or Odoo, and we say so plainly before recommending it rather than defaulting to the larger engagement.
